Albrecht Birke advises our clients with regard to direct insurance and re-insurance law. He focuses his work on the clarification of facts in order to avoid formal legal disputes or to bring disputes efficiently to a prudential end. He attaches great importance to the intensive and direct cooperation with technicians and experts in order to identify causes and mistakes and present them convincingly.
He acts as arbitrator in international disputes and is thereby supported by our law firm. He possesses extensive knowledge in and experience with the French and Anglo-American law. In case of international liability cases, he makes use of his understanding of national distinctions as well as his skills to create conficence and to initialize the cooperation with the aim to find solutions.
He advises our insurance-industry clients on commutation of insurance portfolio.
Albrecht Bierke can revert to his 30-year experience in direct and re-insurance companies. Since 1986 he has been working as claims manager at the Converium Rückversicherung (Deutschland) AG (former Zürich Re resp. Agrippina Re).
