Scope and limits of a policy holder’s duty to disclose information

In the settlement of cover claims, policy holders are obliged to disclose all information necessary to determine the causes of the damage and the extent of the insurer’s liability.

The duty of disclosure though has limits, that are often not not easy to determine. A refusal to disclose should be examined carefully to not endanger insurance cover.
