Profil
Dr Bernd Guntermann specialises in commercial and tax criminal law.
He defends decision-makers in white-collar criminal investigations and proceedings. In addition to individual defences, he coordinates the criminal defence of several corporate bodies or employees on behalf of companies. He regularly works closely with our D&O practice group in order to resolve civil and criminal issues of the clients in a coordinated manner.
Bernd also advises companies, for example, on the investigation of legal offences in advance of possible preliminary proceedings. The aim of his preventative advice is to avoid risks under commercial and tax criminal law. He advises board members and company owners on the development and optimisation of compliance programmes.
Bernd is Of Counsel at the law firm WILHELM. He holds a Master's degree in commercial criminal law and is a specialist lawyer for criminal law, a specialist lawyer for tax law and a specialist lawyer for commercial and corporate law. He completed his doctorate at the University of Greifswald on the topic of ‘The commercial criminal law mandate under the criminal defence insurance for companies and managers’. Since the winter semester 22/23, he has been a lecturer at the Chair of Criminology, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law and Comparative Criminal Law at the University of Greifswald.
