Michael Rausch

As part of our Corporate & Compliance practice group, our Of Counsel and patent attorney Dipl.-Ing. Michael Rausch advises companies on all matters relating to intellectual property rights.

One focus of his advice is to comprehensively identify and protect our clients' intellectual property rights and to realise their value in transactions or investments.

Michael has worked as a patent attorney for national and international companies for more than 30 years. He is an authorised representative before all intellectual property authorities in Germany and the EU (German Patent and Trademark Office, Federal Patent Court, Federal Supreme Court as appellate instance for the Federal Patent Court, European Patent Office, EUIPO, World Intellectual Property Organization)

Prior to his legal training in Munich, Michael studied aerospace engineering, specialising in control engineering, and then held a managerial position as an engineer responsible for the maintenance and repair of aircraft. He is fluent in English. In his spare time, Michael is a passionate sailor.

• Advising various companies on critical IP issues

• Identification and valuation of intangible assets (such as patents, utility models, trademarks, designs as well as developments, constructions or licences) of companies in preparation of transactions and financing rounds
• IP risk management: advice on the protection and insurance of property rights, for example through warranty insurance and patent protection insurance
• Support with design, trade mark and patent applications and advice on avoiding trade mark or patent law disputes with third parties
• IP law due diligence in the context of M&A projects
