Disputed financial consulting

The dispute

Our client, a company operating as a family office, suffered a high financial loss due to allegedly incorrect advice from employees of a financial institution. The allegation was that the employees had not provided sufficient information about the tax risks of a recommended investment.

Our approach

We advised the company and members of the owner family on the strategic approach, helped to clarify the facts of the case and assessed the prospects of success for claims for damages against the financial services provider.

The settlement

As the conflict initially could not be resolved out of court, we filed a lawsuit on behalf of our client. After an oral hearing, the way was paved for renewed out-of-court settlement talks, so that we were able to end the dispute with a comprehensive and viable settlement.
