Profil
Petra Ruf advises clients in the Berlin office of our law firm on liability and insurance law as well as banking and capital market law.
She specialises in out-of-court and in-court dispute resolution. She has many years of litigation experience and expertise in pragmatic dispute resolution. She has conducted a large number of successful proceedings before state and higher regional courts throughout Germany, particularly in relation to prospectus liability and professional liability.
Petra specialises in insurance law and banking and capital markets law. She studied law at the University of Constance. Before joining WILHELM, she worked for more than 10 years in medium-sized law firms where she conducted capital market and insurance law proceedings.
Mandate
- Representation of the widow of the former CEO of Hypo Real Estate in disputes concerning issues of directors' and officers' liability in connection with the HRE KapMuG proceedings
- Advising a health insurance fund on compensation for incorrect investment advice and respective loss coverage under the "Own Loss Clause" (Eigenschadenklausel) of the D&O insurance contract
- Defending a former bank CEO against claims for damages brought by the insolvency administrator against several members of the management board and supervisory board of a stock corporation (directors' and officers' liability)
- Assertion of claims for damages on behalf of company active in competitive sports against its managing director
- Legal representation of a hotel business in coverage proceedings against an insurer to enforce insurance claims following a major fire damage
