Restructuring the insurance purchase of a stock company

Complex structure

An energy group commissioned us to analyse and optimise its insurance purchasing. To date, purchasing had been carried out via a company-affiliated intermediary and broker co-operations.

The challenge

As the group's own broker also provided insurance cover for international joint venture power plant projects with external partners, regulatory and brokerage law issues had to be considered in addition to insurance contract aspects and questions of profitability.

The solution

Our team analysed the structures and developed proposals for a fundamentally new organisation of insurance purchasing, which we implemented together. Today, the company benefits from streamlined, economically improved and legally compliant processes in risk management and insurance purchasing.
